What’s happening this Summer at Toukon….

While holidays, family time and the sun are all there to be enjoyed this is also the perfect time to do something a little different and maybe even make some improvements to your fitness and martial arts.

Here are some of the things we have planned between now and our summer break in the final week of August.

Mondays- 

9:30am Box-fit – Our usual box fit class will be running throughout the summer. This is adults only and to save a few quid in what can an expensive time for families we are offering these sessions for half price (50% off either pay as you go or a “fitness pass”)

10:30am Kids Kickboxing – We are holding an additional Kickboxing class across both age ranges so suitable for anyone from 7-16 yrs old. Please be aware that these sessions will be slightly more intense than our usual sessions. Only those serious about training hard should attend

 £5 per session or £15 for the 4 weeks with all money going to our fighter’s fund.


Wednesdays-

Open mat from 1pm-3pm. This is an excellent opportunity to use the dojo space and equipment for your own training. Please note that these sessions are not suitable for anyone who cannot train independently. Coaches will be on hand to offer advice and for safety purposes, but these are not structured classes.  FREE!

 Children primary school age please see coaches to advise on suitability.

 

We always like to run a competition over the summer but this year we have not one but 3.


  1. Kick-Pic. Our summer training photo competition is back. Simply take a photo performing your favourite punch, kick or martial arts pose and send it in. This can be on holiday or when you are out and about at any location. Have some fun and be imaginative. 

  2. Summer attendance- We like to reward those who stay committed over what are usually quieter periods. You don’t need to do anything as we will track attendance and announce the winners when the schools go back.

  3. AMRAP- On the back of us collecting 6 months’ worth of data on students’ fitness we have put together a fun fitness competition. Set your timer for 10 minutes and complete as as many sets as possible of the following-

5x pushups, burpees, squats, sit ups then 4x each, 3x each, 2x each, 1x each then start again from 5 working down as many times as you can. See board in the dojo and social media for a full explanation.


There are 2 prizes of each of the above competition, one for Karate and one for kickboxing. The prize is a “Toukon Pack” … to be revealed. 



Bring a buddy-

This was meant for August but no reason why we cant start from now. Bring a buddy to a class, if they join you get to roll the dice for a prize and you will be entered into our prize draw where you could win a year’s free training. If you feel that your or child benefit from being part of the Toukon family then why not offer this opportunity to a friend.
