Hey Team,
How much do you know about the competitive side of kickboxing? Maybe you’re curious but unsure if it’s for you? Perhaps the idea feels a little intimidating? Or are you eager to jump in but don’t know where to start?
Maybe you have a child who is nervous or more likely you aren’t sure if you could stand watching your little one trading blowsWhatever your situation, we understand and we’ve got you covered.
Following our recent sparring workshop, we listened to feedback and have come with a step by step process which supports you to either dip your toe in or go all the way.
Welcome to our Kickboxing Fight Squad Development Pathway—a structured approach to ease you into the world of competitive kickboxing at a pace that suits you.Our sparring workshop focused on building confidence and reinforcing our philosophy on sparring at Toukon. If you missed it, don’t worry—everything covered will be integrated into our regular sessions. The workshop was just a great way to deliver it at a fast pace in one afternoon. The feedback? Those who were nervous at the start left feeling much more confident. Mission accomplished!
If that’s the level where you’d like your sparring journey to stay, that’s absolutely fine. But… if you’re hungry for more, then read on!

- A ring setup and spectators to make it feel as close to the real thing as possible.

Step 3 – South Tyneside Open
If you’ve completed the previous steps and feel ready to take things up a notch, this is your chance to test yourself at an official, well-organised local competition.
Date: Saturday, 29th June
Further details to follow.
Step 4 – The Choice is Yours!
From here, the world of competition is open to you, and we’ll support you every step of the way. Whether you want to compete regularly, challenge yourself at higher levels, or simply enjoy the experience, the opportunities are endless.
Important Reminder: None of the above steps are compulsory. However, the benefits of competing—both physically and mentally—are huge. We fully understand that taking part in an external event is a big step, which is why we’ve designed this pathway as a stepping stone or a safe way to experience competition within our own academy.
