Toukon Martial Arts – End of Year Newsletter (Nov 2025)

Hi everyone,

As the year begins to wind down, we’re not quite ready to put our feet up just yet! There’s still plenty of time to make meaningful progress before the festive season arrives. Throughout the next few weeks our classes will place a strong emphasis on improving flexibility — and we’ll be giving members simple tools and routines they can follow at home to boost their progress even further.

Below is everything you need to know as we head into a busy (and exciting!) end to the year…

📅 Christmas Closing Dates

Our last class of 2025 will be Friday 19th December.
We reopen for an energetic start to the year on Saturday 3rd January 2026.
Let’s hit the ground running together!

🥋 Upcoming Gradings – February 2026

We’re excited to announce our first grading events of the new year:

Karate Grading: Sunday 1st February

Kickboxing Grading: Sunday 8th February

You also gave us valuable feedback — and we listened. We’re trialling a refreshed grading format that will allow parents to spectate and see first-hand how well their children are developing. More details will be released soon.

👀 A Note on Spectating in Classes

Over the past few months we’ve noticed a rise in the number of parents remaining in class to watch. While we truly appreciate the enthusiasm and support, we do need to gently reinforce our long-standing policy:

Parents may observe only if their child requires additional support, such as during their first couple of weeks, or if they are struggling with confidence or specific learning challenges.

This is simply because:

We do not have the space to safely accommodate additional spectators.

Extra people in the room can be distracting for both students and instructors.

For those who do need to remain in the dojo, we kindly ask:

Please keep noise to a minimum.

Please refrain from bringing food into the training area.

These guidelines help us maintain the high standard of teaching your children deserve. They’re never the easiest reminders to give, but they are essential to delivering safe, focused, quality sessions.

(And trust us — if we could magically expand the dojo tomorrow, we would!)

💬 Help Us Grow

If you’d love to see Toukon in a bigger space one day — perhaps even with a dedicated viewing area — the best way to help make that happen is simple:

Refer a friend. Spread the word. Tell people what we do.

Your recommendations genuinely play a huge role in helping us grow and reinvest into the academy.

🙏 Thank You

Finally, thank you for your continued support throughout another fantastic year. Let’s finish 2025 on a high and step into 2026 with energy, discipline, and plenty of fighting spirit.

See you on the mats,
Toukon Martial Arts
